Head coach Greg Cronin said Monday that he anticipates Gibson (abdomen) accompanying the Ducks on their upcoming road trip, which begins Saturday against the Rangers, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Gibson has missed the first few weeks of the regular season while recovering from an appendectomy, but he appears to be closing in on a return. While it’s not yet clear when he could be back in game action, it’s encouraging that he’ll travel with the team for the upcoming four-game road trip. Once Gibson is able to return, he’ll likely compete with Lukas Dostal for the starting goaltender job.
