Today, TIME revealed the annual list of the World’s Greatest Places. TIME highlighted 100 extraordinary destinations to visit and stay, and the Disney Destiny cruise ship made the list.
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny
Each year, TIME gathers nominations of places, which include hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks, and more, from an international network of correspondents and contributors, as well as through an application process. TIME looks for offerings that are new and exciting. The result from this search is the 100 extraordinary destinations to stay and to visit this year.
Disney Destiny Time’s Worlds Greatest Places
Here’s what TIME had to say about the Disney Destiny:
“From the moment passengers step into the Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall—where decorative metalwork on the columns takes cues from Queen Ramonda’s crown and a statue of T’Challa holds court—it’s clear that Disney Destiny is not your typical family cruise. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, which began sailing in November, is its first heroes-and-villains-themed vessel, with Marvel, Pixar, and Disney characters steering the experience from atrium to aft.”
A few other entries on TIME’s World’s Greatest Places list include:
Cizhong, China’s Songtsam Lodge – a boutique hotel network that seeks to tempt tourists out of China’s bustling cities and into the lush countryside.
Philadelphia’s Netflix House – the ultimate destination for fans of original shows from Stranger Things to Is It Cake? to Squid Game.
United Arab Emirates’ Surf Abu Dhabi – which made waves as the first artificial surf park to join the pro surf championship circuit, and is open to visitors of all abilities.
London’s new V&A Storehouse East – which is making art more accessible by allowing visitors to check out priceless pieces and spend intimate time examining them up close.
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny Cruise Ship
The Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage began on November 20, 2025. The inaugural season offered 4- and 5-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.

The Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s first “Heroes & Villains”-themed ship, featuring Super Hero Minnie, popular Disney Villains, and Marvel theming.
Like every Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Destiny features unique artwork on display throughout. The forward (front) of the ship features Villains, while the aft (back) features Heroes. Check out our full tour of the ship’s artwork.
Hero Minnie is the featured character on the ship’s bow medallion design.
Disney Destiny has 15 decks. Deck 15 is just the Tower Suite, while deck 1’s only guest-accessible areas are the tender lobbies and health center. The Grand Hall is on deck 3, and most entertainment spaces are on decks 3 – 5. Decks 6 – 10 are mostly staterooms. Pools and related venues are on decks 11 – 14.

Guests can enjoy two big deck parties during the course of their cruise. On the first day is the Sail Away party, celebrating the beginning of the sailing. Cast Members, Mickey and Friends, and more characters lead guests in high-energy dances. Unique to the Disney Destiny, the sail away features Spider-Man facing off against Electro.
