Dirk Nowitzki, Sergio Ramos among celebs at Mavs-Celtics Game 4

Some big names from the world of sports came out to the American Airlines Center to catch Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.
Among them were a couple of European sporting icons in Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki and soccer player Sergio Ramos. The pair snapped a picture courtside before the game.

Ramos spent much of his career with Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, winning four UEFA Champions League titles with Los Blancos. Mavs star Luka Doncic played for Real Madrid’s basketball team, leading it to a EuroLeague title in 2018 before entering the NBA Draft that year.

The two former Madrid players met up and exchanged jerseys before the game. Ramos gave Luka a pair of his soccer cleats and three jerseys, one from the Spain national team; one from his current club team, Sevilla; and a signed Real Madrid jersey from his final season with the club.

Other sports stars spotted at the game included former NBA MVP Joel Embiid, who made an appearance on the NBA Countdown pregame show on ESPN. He was also seen in the tunnel chatting with 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

D-FW native and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was spotted courtside before the game. Murray was a star for Allen High School and later won the Heisman Trophy as a junior at the University of Oklahoma. He was also in attendance for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Mavs and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Outside the world of sports, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob told The Dallas Morning News he’d be in attendance to cheer on his countryman Doncic during Game 4.
The Celtics controlled the series’ start, winning the first three games to put Dallas in an 0-3 hole. But the Mavericks won Friday night’s contest 122-84, and now the series will return to Boston for Game 5 on Monday.
