Lennox and Addington Council received a report and information regarding the Naturally L&A Activation Program at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2025.
This program provides $40,000 in funding for tourism events throughout the County. The funding must be divided equally between Stone Mills Township, Loyalist Township, the Town of Greater Napanee, and Addington Highlands.
Up to $4,000 is available per project. As well, an additional 25 per cent, up to $1,000, is available for the Economic Development Office to promote successful events/products using digital marketing tools.
With an open intake period, the funds are distributed until exhausted.
An application for the 30th annual Newburgh Canal Bash was put forward. The event is slated for Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the Newburgh Conservation Area.
County staff recommended Council support this event with a $2,500 contribution, as well as $625 for online marketing through Naturally L&A’s social channels. In total, staff recommended Council contribute $3,125 toward this event.
Council approved this request.
