Kevin Durant is back at it again! And this time, with good reason. Wait, what are we talking about? Why, none other than his infamous social media jabs. We don’t need to tell you that the Suns showcased a spectacular performance in their 125-119 win over the Clippers. Led by a Devin Booker explosion of 40 points, Phoenix erased a 21-point deficit, hitting 15 points in a row to pull off the victory!
And all those who bet on the wrong team and players naturally ended up reaping the loss. Needless to say, they took to social media to vent. Only this time, KD was there first with a cheeky tweet. “Great dub suns, and for my parlayers, better luck next time lol,” he wrote.
Unsurprisingly, the comment section blew up with amused fans and angry ones, the latter group not in the mood at all to hear it from the ‘Slim Reaper’. Check out what one fan wrote in reply to Durant’s tweet. “whatever. now my son wont be able to eat tomorrow and its your fault.”

Well … yeah, you get the idea, right?
Then again, this isn’t the first time Kevin Durant has taken to X to call out “parlayers,” as he calls them. In November 2023, after surpassing his scoring expectations against the Jazz, the 2x champion playfully called out those bettors who who often reach out to him with complaints on nights when his performance falls short of their betting goals. With a lighthearted jab, he pointed out the double standard, reminding everyone that he’s aware of the extra attention from the betting crowd.
“When I get ya paid, u don’t DM me and send a small percentage to my cashapp but when them parlays don’t hit, I’m every name in the book. Yall ain’t real,” he tweeted.
The revenue from online sports betting was projected to be $14.30 billion this year. Furthermore, it is expected to have an annual growth rate of 10.73%, meaning a projected market volume of $23.80 billion by 2029, according to Statista. That’s how popular and deeply invested bettors are in the field. Hence, it’s no wonder that they get mad when they are unable to cash in on the returns.
And their frustration was on full display in KD’s tweet.
Kevin Durant’s comment on bettors sparks outrage among frustrated fans on X
“no shade I don’t think KD has ever won me any money smh selfish bruh,” stated one user, expressing disappointment that Kevin Durant hasn’t helped them win any money through sports betting. Not that KD or, for that matter, any player is obligated to do so. And even if a player does decide to go that route … well, just think of what happened to Jontay Porter.

This next fan decided to turn the tables on Kevin Durant. “In conclusion, never bet on Durantula,” they wrote, followed by a laughing-with-tears emoji, reflecting a humorous yet frustrated sentiment.
Another fan followed the same sentiment as the one in the introduction. With one exception. “Now I cant pay rent. Thanks alot KD.”
Finally, this fan seemed to have lost quite a bit. “I lost a 12 leg only for u fam come on now,” commented the user, his exasperation clear as the day. For those not familiar with betting terms, a 12-leg bet refers to a parlay bet that combines multiple wagers into one. For a bet like this to win, all the individual bets must be successful, making it particularly challenging.

It’s clear that betting on players comes with its fair share of ups and downs. And in the case of Kevin Durant, fans are definitely feeling the heat, with some humorously blaming him for their financial woes while others shake their heads at their bad luck.
At the end of the day, it’s all part of the thrill of the game, and maybe next time, things will swing in their favor! But for now, it looks like bettors are left with some hilarious but relatable stories of disappointment.
