Simone Biles, Gold Over America Tour to come to Boston

The tour will make a stop at Boston’s TD Garden on Oct. 6, and tickets are available on the tour’s website.
Gymnasts including Simone Biles, Stoughton’s Frederick Richard , Worcester’s Stephen Nedoroscik , Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Paul Juda will hit the road in September for the Gold Over America Tour, or GOAT — an acronym in reference to Biles, often dubbed the greatest of all time.
The Olympics are coming to a close. But don’t worry: If you didn’t make it to Paris, you didn’t miss your chance to see some of Team USA’s most decorated athletes.
Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, will headline the event, which is billed as a “pop concert-style spectacle.”
“From the world’s stage to the GOAT stage, this incredible journey continues, and I can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store this year,” Biles said in a press release. “I love creating unforgettable memories for our audiences every night on tour.”

Joining her will be Nedoroscik, whose glasses, nerdy demeanor, and pommel horse heroics made him an overnight sensation when he secured a bronze medal for Team USA in the men’s team competition.

But Nedoroscik will not be the only Massachusetts native making an appearance. Richard, who was raised in Stoughton and trains in Millis, will also be a part of the event. And Stoughton plans to hold a parade for their Olympian when he’s back in town in October (Richard attends school and competes in gymnastics for Michigan).
Other gymnasts on the tour include Team USA’s Carey, Chiles, Juda, and Brody Malone, plus Olympic alternate Joscelyn Roberson. Peng-Peng Lee, Katelyn Ohashi, Mélanie Johanna De Jesus Dos Santos, and Casimir Schmidt will also be on the tour.
Boston is the tour’s only stop in New England, but you can also catch the show in Brooklyn, N.Y., Philadelphia, and 27 other cities across the US.
It’s commonplace for American gymnasts to tour the country following the Olympics, dating back to the Olympic & World Champion Gymnastics Tour in 1992.
When the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the Tokyo Olympics back a year, the tour adapted, passing through 32 cities from September to November 2021. The show sported a higher level of production than past iterations and an all-female cast that included Biles, Carey, and Chiles.

The 2021 tour sold 182,000 tickets and grossed $19.3 million, according to Billboard. Closing night of the tour in Boston was the best-attended and highest-grossing show on the route, totaling 9,428 tickets sold and generating $1.17 million.
