Figures from the worlds of sports, fashion and film mingled at ‘The Prelude To The Olympics’ party at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris on Thursday on the eve of the official launch of the 2024 Olympics in the French capital.
LeBron James, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Ian Thorpe and Tyrese Haliburton were among the sports stars putting in an appearance with other guests including Steven Spielberg, Mick Jagger, Spike Lee, Zendaya, Snoop Dogg, Tyla, Jeremy Allen White, Queen Latifah, Alan Cumming and Charlize Theron.
Inspired by the Olympics’ rich history celebrating art through competitions for music, painting, sculpture, literature, and architecture, Pharrell Williams curated a select group of world-renowned artists including KAWS, JR, Daniel Arsham, Derek Fordjour, Honor Titus and Julia Chiang to design captivating and dynamic interactive art installations for the event featuring a variety of games that attendees can play and enjoy.
At the event, Pharrell teased his new single “Triumphus Cosmos.” The song symbolizes the world coming together to collectively celebrate the unity and triumphs unique to the Olympics.
The party was organized by Vogue in partnership with the luxury goods company LVMH, which is major sponsor of the games. Vogue global editorial director Anna Wintour co-hosted with LVMH boss Bernard Arnault, Comcast NBCUniversal CEO Brian Roberts and pop star Pharrell Williams, who also heads Louis Vuitton’s men’s collections.
