Philadelphia sports fans are known as some of the most passionate ones in the country, oftentimes going to extreme lengths to make their feelings known about their favorite franchises. Sometimes, apparently, those passionate fans just happen to be the guy in charge. Former Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. admitted Thursday that he called local radio station WIP and pretended to be a fan — while he was still running the team. He ‘fessed up to his antics during a recent appearance on the 94 WIP Morning Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie.
