EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -One area church has raised the walls on what will be a new 16,000-foot place of worship with the help of volunteers Friday.
The Haven Church kicked off the construction of its new sacred space on the corner of Highway 93 and Deerfield Road in Eau Claire at around 8 a.m. Over the next 16 weeks 900 volunteers with Builders for Christ, a national organization, will travel to Eau Claire to help build the new church. The Haven Church pastor, James Whately, said he’s looking forward to the new space.
“Our church has been growing over the last several years and we are running out of room where we are and so this is a great opportunity for us to expand and also this is just an important part of Eau Claire,” Whately said. “This is one of the fastest-growing parts of the community.”
Whatley says they are hoping to finish construction and be in the new space by November.
