‘Conan O’Brien Must Go’ Renewed for Season 2 at Max

The travel series “Conan O’Brien Must Go” has been renewed for Season 2 at Max.
The announcement was made as part of the Warner Bros. Discovery upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Wednesday. The second season of the series will consist of six episodes, whereas the first season was four.
“This latest travel show has been so fun and rewarding that I suspected it was all a cruel prank. My apologies in advance to the next six countries,” O’Brien said in a statement.
In Season 1, O’Brien travels to Norway, Thailand, Argentina, and Ireland, surprising people he met through his podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan.”
“Conan’s ridiculousness knows no bounds,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president of HBO programming, late night & specials. “Our audience told us in no uncertain terms that four episodes of ‘Conan O’Brien Must Go’ is not nearly enough. To which we say, be careful what you wish for.”

The series is executive produced by O’Brien and Jeff Ross and produced by Conaco.
The series received widespread critical acclaim upon its release in April. In his review for Variety, Stephen Rodrick wrote, “The encounters work because O’Brien doesn’t treat his new friends as fools — rather, he revels in the fact that he is the fool.”
O’Brien’s self-titled TBS talk show ended its 11-year run in 2021 after over 1,500 episodes. He previously hosted both “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and (briefly) “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.” He currently hosts the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” as well as the offshoot “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan.”
