Hosting soccer’s World Cup ‘ineffective’ says study as B.C defends 2026 goal

Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Administrator Glen Gilzean to the position of Supervisor of Elections for Orange County, Florida.
Glen Gilzean Appointed Supervisor of Elections
The former Orange County Supervisor of Elections, Bill Cowles, retired in January.
In a press release, the DeSantis administration described Gilzean as a “dedicated public servant to the State of Florida.” Gilzean was formerly Chairman of the Florida Commission on Ethics but resigned when it was found he was not allowed to hold that position and the position of District Administrator at the same time.
Gilzean was also previously the President and CEO of the Central Florida Urban League and vice president at Step Up for Students.
