“Patrick Is My Buddy but He Cost Me…”: Mahomes’ Loss Against Colts Brings Up Tough Times for Longtime Chiefs Fan

Published 09/28/2022, 10:00 AM EDT
Kansas City Chiefs lost to Indianapolis Colts 20-17 in Week 3. Patrick Mahomes had an off outing according to his standards. The 27-year-old superstar went 20-for-35 for 262 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Chiefs QB’s performance raised a lot of talks ahead of their game with the Buccaneers in Week 4.
Noted NFL analyst and sports commentator Nick Wright spoke about PM15’s performance. “Listen, Patrick’s my buddy. But I am very much upset. He costs me as much as himself in that game. He would’ve been a friend like Mac Jones or anything, not just a friend,” the 37-year-old said. The analyst, also a long-time Chiefs fan, added he is not worried too much about the Bucs’ defense.

What went wrong for Patrick Mahomes and Co.?
Speaking after the game, the Super Bowl winner PM15 put a lot of blame on himself for the loss. The superstar also added he will learn from their mistakes. Mahomes said the team left a lot of opportunities on the field. The athlete also admitted the offense did not execute their plans well.

“We just didn’t play good enough, especially on the offensive side of the ball, starting with me. Obviously, we missed some kicks and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, we had multiple opportunities to score. So we have to find ways to get the ball in the end zone. That starts with me. We can’t just get yards, we have to get in the end zone when we’re down there,” Mahomes said.
