In what has been the latest development as per the reports in PTI, it is learned that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to seek a written guarantee from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about their participation in the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan 2025.
As per the reports, Pakistan will not play World Cup games in India until they receive a written guarantee that India will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025. The development comes after the fuss between the two nations for the Asia Cup 2023.

The tournament is slated to take place in Pakistan but BCCI objected to it, saying that India won’t travel to play because of the security threats. Amid all the talks, a hybrid model has been proposed, suggesting that the event will take place in Pakistan apart from the India games. However, the model reportedly has been declined by the ACC, and PCB Chairman Najam Sethi is likely to travel to Dubai on 8th May for the meetings with ACC and ICC officials.

ICC World Cup 2023: Pakistan will not take part in Asia Cup if the hybrid model is not accepted by PCB officials
The source close to PCB said that Najam Sethi is stern about his hybrid model and will tell the same thing to the officials. He added that if they didn’t accept then Pakistan will not take part in Asia Cup.
“Sethi has recently met with some government officials and also obtained advice from them on whether Pakistan should play in the Asia Cup if it is not held in Lahore and Dubai as proposed by the PCB under its hybrid model plan to the ACC. Sethi is expected to make it very clear to the ACC members that either they accept Pakistan’s hybrid proposal or the PCB will not take part in the competition this year if it is moved from Pakistan.

Apparently, Sethi has now realized that it is time for some hard decisions and is not willing to accept any more delays from the ACC on the finalization of venues and schedule for the Asia Cup. Sethi is clear now no Asia Cup matches in Pakistan, no Pakistan team in Asia Cup.” The source claimed
The Cricket World Cup 2023 is slated to take place in India in October this year whereas Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take player in September. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the participation of Pakistan in both events.
