7’1″ Lakers Legend Pau Gasol Pens Down Heartfelt Note for Tom Brady as NBA World in Denial of Major Retirement News

NFL veteran Tom Brady recently announced his retirement from the NFL after giving fans 23 seasons of highlights and memories. One of the most successful quarterbacks in the history of the NFL, Brady became an icon to the institution as he dominated the league year in and year out. Brady chose to play another year after he had first made his retirement public last year. However, since his final year in the league did not go as planned, his announcement has drawn mixed reactions from NBA players and legends.
Tom Brady arguably had no problem dominating his competition every year he was in the league. It wasn’t until this final year that it started to seem evident that Brady’s skills were finally declining as the 45-year-old’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers did not end with a winning record, something that had not happened in his previous years.
Brady announced his retirement from the sport on Wednesday after uploading a video on his Twitter account. Brady addressed his fans, family, and fellow players in the NFL.

In the video, Brady said, “Good morning guys, I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring, for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.”
“I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year, so really thank you guys so much to every single one of you for supporting me,” added Brady.
NBA legend Pau Gasol made sure to still give a shout-out to Brady. Gasol tweeted, “Thank you LEGEND @TomBrady! #GOAT #ThankYouTom.”
Fans, however, were still in denial as they were under the impression that Brady would come back as the NFL season started. One fan tweeted, “See you in September Tom.”
