Italy virtually qualified in 13 out of 14 categories! – OA Sports

It has now been almost five months since the start of the Judo’s qualification path towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will end on June 23, 2024 with the award of 372 passes to five circles. Italy is getting some important results in the World Tour in the last few weeks and this is inevitably also reflected in the Olympic qualification rankingsas demonstrated by the latest update published by the IJF.
To date, the Bel Paese would in fact be qualified for Paris 2024 in thirteen out of fourteen weight categories and could therefore also participate in the mixed team event. The tricolor movement at the moment would not get the pass only in the men’s heavyweights, with Lorenzo Agro Sylvain who is not so far from the goal anyway and will be able to play his cards in the next 19 months.
The Olympic qualification period is still very long and from June 2023 onwards the scores reported by athletes in the various tournaments will double, so it is really too early to draw definitive indications. In any case, Italjudo made a strong start from the blocks and this is fundamental in the process of approaching the Parisian five-circle review.
