It’s the same case in EAFC 25, and we have decided to outline the nine best special cards to buy. When Gareth Bale’s Squad Building Challenge (SBC) was released during the craziness of TOTY, the EAFC community were delighted. They had been blessed with a world-class card with no flaws for an incredible price of 2.8m, far cheaper than others on this list.
While there were endless sections to complete, it was worth it. The legendary Welshman has a four-star weak foot and five-star skill moves, whilst also holding Rapid and Acrobatic PlayStyle+. Delving deeper, his 91 Finishing, 94 Reactions and 98 Sprint Speed make him built for every occasion, even if he is left-footed.

As Lamine Yamal started becoming a regular for Barcelona at the age of 16, the world was shocked. A year later, he is a genuine contender to win the Ballon d’Or and thriving as a teenager. EA Sports gave him a Future Stars to celebrate his early success, but the idea is flawed. Calling him a ‘future star’ is wrong; he already is one.
The community wasn’t complaining though when they saw his stats. Capable of playing on either flank, Yamal can be picked up for just over 3m whilst he has Technical and Trivela PlayStyle+. From 93 Finishing and 92 Vision to 95 Agility and 92 Reactions, the Spaniard had no flaws.

7 Rafael Leao

The NumeroFUT promotion was underwhelming and seemed to be a filler before the chaos and excitement of TOTY. Despite this, there were still a few exciting cards released, including AC Milan and Portugal star Rafael Leao. He was given a 92-rated CAM card that can play across the front third.
Leao is naturally a left winger, so – unsurprisingly – he can play there brilliantly. With the Quick Step PlayStyle+, he can glide around the final third quickly for a price of 2.3m, whilst stats such as 91 Agility and 90 Finishing help him thrive in the hardest competitions around.

6 Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry needs no introduction. As one of Arsenal’s best players of all time, the world-class Frenchman carried the Gunners on his back during the good times and the bad. Every defender feared him, whether he was on the left flank or upfront. To celebrate Team of the Year, he was also given a special TOTY Icon card, which – at 5.1m – is simply incredible.
The former Barcelona player is a natural striker, but he is just as effective out wide. He has Finesse and Rapid PlayStyle+, whilst his stats are almost unbelievable. 96 Finishing. 94 Ball Control. 97 Stamina. You could go on. The only downside is just 80 Balance, but that can surely be ignored when you look at everything else.

5 Sophia Smith

Sophia Smith is the only female player on this list, although TOTY Chelsea forward Guro Reiten came close to being included. The 24-year-old Portland Thorns striker was named in EA Sports’ Team of the Year in January after a stellar year domestically and on the international stage. She scored 12 in 20 NWSL matches in 2024.
Like others on this list, she is a striker, but she also thrives out on the left flank. You would expect that for a price of 3.5m, though. She has Power Shot, First Touch and Quick Step PlayStyle+, whilst when you look at stats such as 99 Dribbling and 99 Ball Control, it’s clear to see how she would be a right-back’s worst nightmare.

4 Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho brought football to life. In the modern day, football could be tedious and robotic; the Brazilian was a breath of fresh air though, channelling his inner child to do endless tricks, flicks and skills. He is widely seen as one of Barcelona’s greatest players ever, and that talent is in EAFC 25.
He was given a Successions Icon midway through the season to celebrate how he helped develop talent, and it has no clear flaws. With the Trickster PlayStyle+, 93 Finishing, 96 Ball Control and countless other impressive stats, Ronaldinho’s price of 3.8m doesn’t seem too excessive.

Kylian Mbappe features twice on this list – it could have been more if we didn’t limit each player to two – and up first is his Thunderstruck card. It was released to celebrate the always chaotic time of Black Friday online. In truth, the former Paris Saint-Germain didn’t need another special card; his base 91-rated card is already world-class.
Costing 6m, Mbappe is once again incredibly ‘meta’. He has just one PlayStyle+, Rapid, but he makes up for that with 97 Finishing, 99 Pace and 96 Dribbling. The Frenchman always feels overpowered in-game, allowing him to carry your side on his back. The Frenchman will try and race in behind at every opportunity.

2 Vinicius Junior

Vinicius Junior was gutted not to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or, with Manchester City midfielder Rodri instead pipping him to the award in dramatic circumstances. However, EA Sports didn’t forget about him, naming him alongside Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah in the attacking third of their TOTY.
While others on this list are strikers converted to left wingers, Vinicius is a natural on the left flank. He has Finesse, Technical and Quick Step PlayStyle+, whilst, for a cost of 9.2m, you can get a player with 99 Pace, 95 Finishing and 95 Balance. Defenders will be back-tracking as soon as they see him dancing forward.

Finally, Mbappe’s Team of the Year card is currently the best left winger available in EAFC 25. The Real Madrid star is already the finest striker to pick up, and the exact same card is also utterly world-class on the left flank. Unsurprisingly, he seems to be in a ‘meta’ league of his own.
Available for a mind-blowing price of 12.1m, the 2018 World Cup winner has three PlayStyle+ attributes — Rapid, Power Shot and Trivela. It means he is fit for every occasion, whilst his 98 Finishing and 97 Agility allow him to find space in the final third that most didn’t realise existed. Very few gamers will ever be able to use him, though.
