The United States continued to enhance its naval power in the Western Pacific Ocean as one of its cruise missile submarines surfaced in a strategic outpost in the region recently.
According to photos posted by the U.S. Navy on November 28, USS Michigan, an Ohio-class nuclear-powered guided-missile submarine, visited Naval Base Guam on November 2. Guam is the westernmost U.S. territory and also hosts air force and marine corps bases. It also hosts five fast-attack submarines, although the Michigan is not one of these and was only paying a visit to the island.
