Trinetra Guard, powered by ELD Mandate, a provider of technology solutions for the trucking industry, announced the release of its latest innovation, the EM6000, an anti-theft and automated lift device designed for trailers and cargo. This launch comes at a critical time, as trailer and cargo theft across the US has been steadily rising, costing the transportation sector an estimated $35 billion annually.
Unlike existing telematics solutions that simply track assets after they have been stolen, the EM6000 focuses on prevention. It is an automated landing gear system that eliminates manual cranking and prevents unauthorized trailer movement. The device installs directly onto the landing gear of trailers, creating an additional layer of protection that makes it significantly harder for thieves to move or steal equipment. At the same time, it automates the lifting process, easing the physical strain on drivers who traditionally have to crank the landing gear manually, which is giving rise to health issues.
Cranking landing gear is a repetitive, high-force task that inflicts severe wear and tear on the human body, leading to a cascade of chronic and acute injuries. Over time, drivers are ultimately leaving the trucking profession. While at the same time, the younger generation does not want to start in the industry due to the current heavy lifting.
