Travelers who act fast can save money on train trips in 2025.
Amtrak launched a one-day flash sale on Tuesday where travelers can get up to 25 percent off trips taken between Jan. 2 and March 15, 2025. The sale is only available on Dec. 3, which is Travel Tuesday.
“With this one-day deal, you can start planning your 2025 adventures early for routes nationwide,” wrote Amtrak on its website. “Whether visiting family, hitting the slopes, or exploring one of over 500 destinations, you can save big this Travel Tuesday.”
The deal applies to regularly priced coach fares across the Amtrak network. Examples of one-way sale fares include $16 each way from Boston to Providence, R.I. and $42 each way from Boston to New York.

“For first time riders and returning train travel lovers alike, you’ll enjoy large spacious seats, plenty of legroom and other amenities (that vary by train), like the quiet car, dining car, observation cars and more,” wrote Amtrak.
The sale is available on all trains except Winter Park Express, Borealis, and Keystone.
Travelers should note that availability is limited and blackout dates are Jan. 17-21 and Feb. 14-17.
