A norovirus outbreak on the Oceania Insignia cruise ship has sickened more than 70 people, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported.
According to a Tuesday, Oct. 21, release from the department, 74 passengers have reported being ill during the ship’s 11-day voyage. That makes up about 11.6% of the 637 total passengers on board. Meanwhile, only one out of 391 crew members reported the illness. The department cited their main symptoms as diarrhea and vomiting.
The vessel began its voyage on Oct. 16 in Montreal, per CruiseMapper. The ship is set to arrive in Boston on Monday, Oct. 27.
