Newly single Nina Dobrev is finding joy with her closest friends far away from home.
Nearly a week after news broke of her split from Shaun White, the actress decided to pack her bags and enjoy a vacation with some of her best friends.
In pictures posted by Keleigh Teller, Dobrev, 36, was all smiles as she posed in a bikini and enjoyed a getaway with Miles Teller, Chace Crawford, Zac Efron and other longtime pals.
“💌☀️🍝🌊,” Keliegh, 32, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, September 18, with snapshots from the trip at an undisclosed location.
For some fun in the sun, Dobrev sported a black suit with an abs-baring cutout while Keleigh rocked a plunging striped swimsuit.
The vacation comes after Us Weekly confirmed on September 11 that Dobrev and White called off their engagement after five years together.
The Vampire Diaries alum and the professional snowboarder sparked dating rumors in February 2020 when fans noticed that they had shared similar pictures from a trip to South Africa. They made their relationship Instagram official three months later.
In October 2024, the pair confirmed via social media that they were engaged after a romantic proposal in New York City. At the time, a source told Us they were “both wildly happy.”
While both parties have yet to publicly address the breakup, multiple sources shined a light on what didn’t lead to the split. For starters, the pair didn’t split over a disagreement about kids.
“They both wanted a family,” one insider told Us. “It wasn’t that one wanted it more than the other.
Another source said Dobrev “couldn’t wait to be married and to start a family with Shaun.”
The couple’s broken engagement also wasn’t brought on by infidelity.
“There was no cheating at all during the course of their five-and-a-half-year relationship,” an insider close to the former couple said. “They were very loyal to each other. Any online speculation that suggests otherwise is ridiculous.”
While some fans may be waiting for answers as to what went wrong, both White and Dobrev are trying their best to move forward.
White recently traveled to Beijing, China, to promote the snowboarding league he founded last year. He last visited the capital as part of the 2022 Olympic Games.
As for Dobrev, she’s been spending time with friends and family, including her mom, who just celebrated a birthday.
“Nina is devastated,” a source told Us. “They had finally started planning the wedding and things were in motion.”
