Nassau, Bahamas Announces New Changes to Cruise Port

Big changes are in store for the popular cruise port of Nassau, Bahamas, including a multi-millionaire renovation specifically designed to help improve visitors’ experiences inside the port.
According to TravelPulse, the popular cruise destination is celebrating its sixth year of continuous operations with a host of changes, including a new pool area, a larger marina and an innovative new ferry terminal system.
“This milestone represents much more than the passage of time,” said Mike Maura, Jr., Nassau Cruise Port’s CEO and director. “It reflects our promise to continually elevate the guest experience, contribute to the local economy, and provide opportunities for Bahamians.”
Since Nassau began inviting guests into its cruise port in 2019, the port has grown into one of the most widely popular vacation destinations for millions of travelers across the globe. As per TravelPulse’s findings, Nassau has hosted over 6 million cruise passengers inside its port in 2025 alone, making it one of the most highly-visited ports for cruise ships to visit.
With its significant expansion in recent years, Nassau’s Cruise Port is only looking to double down on their continued operations, catering to a larger base of potential visitors interested in exploring the iconic Bahamian city.
As part of this mission, Nassau has investing roughly $350 million in expanding its cruise port in several key ways.
This investment includes a larger marina meant to house additional yachts in the area; a new ferry terminal meant for easier transfers between the Royal Caribbean Beach Club (the cruise company’s new facility), currently under construction on nearby Paradise Island; and a new pool nestled along Nassau’s scenic shores.
“Our focus on driving cruise tourism and the $350 million investment in our downtown waterfront is a testament to our vision of making Nassau a premier cruise and leisure destination,” said Maura.
