‘My F***g Captain’: Ryder Cup Skipper Keegan Bradley’s Emotional Cruise Leaves Fans Rejuvenated & Hopeful

There were many bright sparks on the first day of the Presidents Cup at the Royal Montreal – Scottie Scheffler shouting after sinking his putt, Tony Finau’s chip in, and Keegan Bradley’s electric streak through his round. The 2025 Ryder Cup captain brought out the energy in the tournament and continued the lossless streak for the Americans with Wyndham Clark.
A bright light on the course, Keegan Bradley was putt-sinking, fist-pumping machine. Golf journalist Dan Rappaport was very impressed with him and imagined him in next year’s Ryder Cup being the same hot ball of drive and energy. Rappaport tweeted, “Keegan Bradley has the most intense look on his face it’s incredible. Just in an emotional vortex. And I think he’s going to be even more locked in being captain and leading the group. He’s going to be an absolute menace at Bethpage whether he plays or not.”

What’s your reaction? Did Keegan Bradley’s emotional Ryder Cup cruise just make you a bigger fan? React! Reactions
Keegan Bradley sunk 5 birdie putts on Thursday and won by 1 up with his partner, Wyndham Clark, against Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Taylor Pendrith. After taking the lead at the first hole, the Americans only relinquished it at the 10 and 12 holes but never trailed. It was smooth cruising for the pair with 4 holes won and only two lost.
Throughout the round, Clark and Bradley were an extremely efficient pairing. Both of them made some very difficult putts. Sinking his putt from off the green on 13, Bradley rolled the ball right to left and celebrated it profusely. Again on the last hole after making the birdie putt, he energetically fist-pumped and celebrated the win with his partner Wyndham Clark.
Fans have been extremely appreciative of Bradley throughout the season. Although his only win came at the BMW Championship prior to the Tour Championship, he has been on the good side of USA fans. One reason may be that they sympathize with him for being left out of the Ryder Cup last year in favor of players who didn’t perform well in the tournament, and seeing it firsthand through the Netflix documentary Full Swing. Let’s take a look at how they reacted after watching him in the Presidents Cup.

“We are ready for it. LFG Cap!” One commenter wrote, displaying the enormous energy that mirrored Bradley’s. Team tournaments are generally very exciting and entertaining but Bradley being the Ryder Cup captain also makes fans look forward to his presence in the tournament next year. Another commenter wrote, “Well said.”
Indeed, Jim Furyk may have done the Ryder Cup USA Team a huge favor by picking Bradley over others in contention like Justin Thomas. For one, he is winning more than JT and he is increasing belief around the next Ryder Cup which will be played on American soil, and Bradley’s golfing home, Bethpage Black. One commenter alluded to the strategy, saying, “Totally agree. The choice to pick him as captain was genius.”.
A user also wrote, “Legitimately hard to believe it’s been a decade since we’ve seen Keegan Bradley going nuclear in the red, white and blue. Cannot fu**in wait for Bethpage”. The last time Bradley played in the Presidents Cup was in 2013 when he performed really well alongside Phil Mickelson and achieved a record of 2-2-1.

Several users were extremely hyped by Team USA and Keegan Bradley’s performance and relished in the victories they were deprived of in the Ryder Cup last year. “Total domination!” One supporter wrote, “Keegan Bradley is my f*****g captain. Hell yeah Keegs.”
Looks like the Bradley hype will continue through the next two days. He has been left out of the Friday session, however, he is probably going to feature on Saturday and Sunday. Through the next year, however, he will be reaping the benefits of his Presidents Cup performance until the Ryder Cup.
