Lions cruise past Bengals, 37-24, behind 5 TDs, 3 INTs

CINCINNATI — The Detroit Lions dominated the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals, 37-24, on Sunday, Oct. 5, in Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season.
David Montgomery passed for one touchdown and scored one in his homecoming, and Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, Jahmyr Gibbs and rookie Isaac TeSlaa scored the other touchdowns.
The Lions’ defense intercepted Jake Browning three times: Amik Robertson, Alex Anzalone and Kerby Joseph had the takeaways. Derrick Barnes picked up a safety to seal the win on a sack of Browning.
The Lions led 28-3 to start the fourth quarter, but Ja’Marr Chase quickly caught two touchdowns to get the Bengals (2-3) within 28-17.
But Jared Goff and the Lions responded with the game-sealing drive. Goff found TeSlaa streaking across the middle of the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown with 5:14 to play.
The Lions (4-1) will play at the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday night in Week 6. The Chiefs are at the Jacksonville Jaguars on
