Dover, MN (KROC-AM News)- The first major snowfall of the season has caused hazardous travel conditions that are now impacting a southeast Minnesota interstate.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in part of Olmsted County are being blocked by a jack-knifed semi truck.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says the impacted part of the interstate is closed to allow crews space to safely clear the scene. MnDOT announced the closure shortly before 11:45 a.m.

Westbound I-90 Closed due to Jackknifed Semi Between Dover & St. Charles, MN
I-90 westbound is closed between the Dover and St. Charles exits. Westbound traffic is being detoured north of the interstate to Hwy. 14 via Olmsted County Rd. 10 and Hwy. 74.
Officials anticipate reopening the interstate by 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

The State Patrol is reporting six injury crashes and 41 property damage crashes in the southeast Minnesota District between 5 a.m. and Noon Thursday.
Sgt. Troy Christianson says 17 vehicles needed a tow after going off the road and that six other semis have jackknifed during the Thursday morning snowfall.
Snowplows have been deployed across the major roadways to clear snow in southeast Minnesota throughout the morning on Thursday.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Olmsted County until 3:00 Friday morning. Goodhue, Winona and Wabasha Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning that is also scheduled to expire at 3:00 Friday morning.
