Fans feel about Dale Jr., Steve Letarte, and Adam Alexander in the booth
For many, it’s all about the “all-star lineup.” Having such popular names in the broadcast booth is something that fans are excited to see. Each coming with their own legacy will allow NASCAR fans to get an entertaining and experienced line-up of people commentating on their favorite sport.
One fan summed it up perfectly with, “I like that a lot,” showing their excitement for the combination of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Adam Alexander, and Steve Letarte. There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding their chemistry and the expertise they each bring to the table, especially Jr., who has such a strong connection with the sport and its fans.
However, not everyone is on board with every part of the team. One fan raised the question, “Is Steve leaving NBC?” hinting at the uncertainty that always comes with big moves in broadcasting. Letarte’s career with NBC ran for a long 9 years that started back in 2015 only to end with this season.

Some fans are particularly pleased to see Adam Alexander back in the booth for Cup races. One fan said, “Glad to see Alexander’s back doing cup races again,” showing that his previous stint with TNT left a positive impression. But for others, there’s a bit of nostalgia and longing for a familiar voice.
“Okay, I like this combination a lot,” said another fan, though others added a note of personal preference: “Still wish we had Larry Mac instead of Steve Letarte, but I’ll still gladly take it.” It’s clear some fans have their favorite analysts, and while Letarte’s expertise is appreciated, there’s still love for Larry McReynolds’ experience as a Daytona 500 winner as a crew chief and a Fox Sports analyst.

On the other end of the spectrum, one fan had a more dramatic reaction: “This news ruins my day. Adam Alexander is the worst announcer in pro sports by a significant margin.” Not everyone is a fan of Alexander’s style, and this fan clearly feels strongly that his voice doesn’t belong in the NASCAR booth. And while most of the fans are happy about the booth, not everyone can be tended to.
