Hilton Reveals 2025’s Top Thanksgiving Travel Hotspots, From Punta Cana to New York City

Thanksgiving might be about family and food, but more Americans are leaving the comforts of home for destination escapes this year.
According to the latest booking data from Hilton, travelers are heading for beaches, big cities and bucket-list adventures over the long holiday weekend — with both tropical resorts and urban hotspots dominating the most searched and fastest-rising destinations for 2025.
Hilton analyzed searches on Hilton.com over the past 90 days for four-night stays between November 26 and 30, 2025, and found that Americans are embracing travel as the centerpiece of their holiday plans. The findings show an increasing appetite for warmer-weather escapes, coastal retreats and entertainment-packed cities.
Among trending destinations, defined as having the biggest increase in searches for U.S. travelers over the last 90 days, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic tops the list. Travelers are drawn to the all-inclusive Zemi Miches Punta Cana, Curio Collection by Hilton, where private plunge pools, multiple dining options and curated cultural experiences promise an indulgent holiday under the sun.
Seattle follows, with Hilton Motif Seattle offering a stylish base near the Space Needle and Pike Place Market — complete with Pacific Northwest fare at Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails. Chicago takes third place, where guests at Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile can enjoy roomy suites steps from Navy Pier and the Riverwalk.
Costa Rica lands fourth, thanks to the new Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, which combines jungle views, beachfront dining and the signature pura vida spirit.
Rounding out the top five is Anaheim, California, where the recently refreshed Hilton Anaheim gives families easy access to theme parks and a resort-style pool deck ideal for unwinding after a day of Disneyland magic.
In the category of most searched destinations overall, Hawaii reigns supreme, with travelers flocking to Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, for waterfall-fed pools, oceanfront relaxation and a Thanksgiving feast blending Hawaiian flavors with traditional holiday dishes.
New York City follows closely behind, where New York Hilton Midtown sits directly along the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade route, offering VIP viewing packages and festive breakfasts.
Cancún, Mexico, ranks third, with the beachfront Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort promising poolside shows, themed culinary experiences and kids’ holiday crafts.
Orlando, Florida., comes in fourth, with Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek situated on a 482-acre nature preserve, offering easy access to theme parks as well as the adjacent Waldorf Astoria Orlando, where guests can visit the Golf Club, spa and festive dinners at Bull & Bear and Harvest Bistro.
Las Vegas, Nevada, rounds out the top five, with Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World offering luxury above the Strip with seven pools, 20 dining options and endless entertainment.
