Fantasy football 2024 managers who started Jordan Love in Week 1 were dealt a mighty blow and must regroup ahead of Week 2. The Green Bay Packers starter was solid, as he threw for 260 yards with two touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, he sustained an MCL sprain in the fourth quarter and had to be helped off the field. Love has not yet been ruled out for Week 2, but who should you target in the Week 2 Fantasy football QB rankings as a backup? Evaluating the Week 2 Fantasy football matchups may encourage owners to rethink their Fantasy football strategy. Before you lock in your Fantasy football lineups, be sure to check out the Week 2 Fantasy football rankings from the advanced computer model at SportsLine.

The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, including being ahead of the curve on players like A.J. Brown, Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.

Top Week 2 Fantasy football picks
One surprise in Week 2: The model is fading Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., even though the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was a second-round pick on average. In fact, the model says Harrison doesn’t even finish in the top 30 at his position and he’s a player who you might want to be cautious with in Week 2.
After being touted as the clear No. 1 option in the Arizona passing attack all offseason, Harrison was only targeted three times on Sunday and caught one pass for four yards. Trey McBride (nine targets) and Greg Dortch (eight targets) were Kyler Murray’s favorite options and even running back James Conner outpaced Harrison in targets 4-3. He’ll match up against the Rams this week and it might be worth taking a wait-and-see approach going forward.
A curveball: The model is high on Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who came up big for New England in Week 1. The Patriots ranked 30th in yards per game in 2023 and 26th in total rushing yards (1,627). They will likely rely on the run more in 2024 with Jacoby Brissett under center, and Stevenson accounted for 120 of the team’s 180 rushing yards in Sunday’s 16-10 upset win against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The door is open for Stevenson to have another big game with the Patriots hosting the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. The Seahawks rush defense ranked 31st in 2023 and it allowed rookie quarterback Bo Nix to average 7.0 yards per carry as Seattle held on for a 26-20 win. The stage is set for Brissett to hand the ball to Stevenson early and often in Week 2.
