“For customers who already have tickets to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional services, CP will allow a full refund of the ticket price or a free exchange for another train of the same category and class,” reads a statement.
Refunds or exchanges can be made in myCP in the “Your Tickets” area (for tickets purchased online and via the CP App) up to 15 minutes before the train’s departure from the customer’s station of origin, or at ticket offices.
After this period, and up to 10 days after the end of the strike, a refund can be requested by filling out the online contact form “Refund for Delay or Cancellation”, and sending a scanned copy of the original ticket.
The strike at CP (Portuguese Railways) is called by the unions ASCEF, FECTRANS/SNTSF, FENTCOP, SINAFE, SINDEFER, SINFA, SINFB, SINTTI, SIOFA, SNAQ, STF and STMEFE.
Thursday’s general strike against the government’s draft reform of labour legislation will be the first stoppage to bring together the two main trade union confederations, CGTP and UGT, since June 2013, when Portugal was under the intervention of the ‘troika’.
