Disney Cruise Line Testing Its First Roller Coaster on New Ship

The Disney Cruise Line is gearing up for the upcoming maiden voyage of the new ship—the largest yet—the Disney Adventure, and it’s currently testing one of the many innovative features on the ship, the cruise line’s first-ever roller coaster.
It was reported by WDW News Today that the ship, which was recently escorted to Port Canaveral in Florida, was spotted off the coast, testing the new Ironcycle Test Run roller coaster.
The coaster, which is themed around Marvel’s Iron Man, will be both the cruise line’s first coaster and the longest roller coaster at sea, with a track length of over 820 ft, or 250 meters.
A fan shared a clip of the roller coaster vehicle racing on the track, getting fans hyped about the thrilling ride.
Disney describes the ride on the official website: “Test drive Tony Stark’s latest Ironcycle prototype in this action-packed ride that launches you into an epic dash around a high-speed circuit above the upper decks of the Disney Adventure.”
The ride will have a minimum height requirement of 47.2 in, or 120 cm. There will also be a maximum height of 76.8 in, or 195 cm.

Along with Ironcycle Test Run, the Disney Adventure will have two more attractions on board, with Pym Quantum Racers and Groot Galaxy Spin, as part of an area on the ship called Marvel Landing.
On Pym Quantum Racers, “get behind the wheel of Pym Tech-modified mini cars as you zip around an oversized toy car track set.”
As for Groot Galaxy Spin, Disney writes, “For a journey that will captivate your senses, blast off into high-soaring feats on Groot Galaxy Spin, accompanied by Groot’s awesome mix of tunes.”
All three attractions are sure to be major hits with cruise guests once the ship officially starts setting sail. Of course, there will be a wide array of activities for guests to partake in on the Disney Adventure, including live shows, spas, youth clubs, and more.
While some of the shows are from other Disney properties like Pirates of the Caribbean and Moana, there will also be more Marvel with the Avengers Assemble! show.
The Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage will depart from Singapore on March 10.
