A California bakery recalled two of its most popular bundt cakes due to the presence of undeclared wheat and milk.
According to a recall notice published by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Doan’s Bakery, which is based in Woodland Hills, Calif., recalled its White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake and Carrot Bundt Cake.
Those with sensitivity to wheat or milk who come in contact with the contaminated product can experience “a serious or life-threatening reaction,” as stated in the notice. The recalled bundt cakes, distributed nationwide via Goldbelly, a curated marketplace for gourmet food gifts, were shipped out between June 1, 2025, and Sept. 24, 2025.
As noted in the recall, Doan’s Bakery has taken swift action to update the labeling on the affected products to include the allergens and, as of writing, has received no reported illnesses related to the recalled products.
Readers may, in particular, recognize the White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake from its connection to Tom Cruise, 63, who is famously known for sending the bundt cake, that’s covered in shredded coconut, to stars’ homes during the holiday season.
With the cake, affectionately known as the “Tom Cruise Cake,” becoming a highly anticipated part of many A-listers’ holiday celebrations, celebs have taken to sharing their special deliveries online along with the details of the joyous gift in interviews.
Back in December, Glen Powell, 37, excitedly shared the news of receiving his seasonal bundt cake. The Hit Man star took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of the cake’s decorative white and gold packaging.
