(WJW) – Dublin, Ireland is a travel destination for many reasons, but frozen cherry tomatoes are what’s enticing people to visit a specific bridge in the area.
According to social media posts on TikTok and X, a steady stream of people were seen arriving at the bridge that crosses Royal Canal at Drumcondra Road over the weekend.
The bridge, now known as “Cherry Tomato Bridge,” has gathered a following after tomatoes were found by a passerby frozen to the bridge wall during the recent cold wave in the area.
“On my morning walk, I found these cherry tomatoes frozen on the bridge. Some were sliced in half. Others still whole. Red, under the ice,” user @sarahgriffski said on TikTok. “I want you to know this: I didn’t eat them. I am a normal person and I have really great impulse control.”
According to another TikTok video, “Cherry Tomato Bridge” is now showing up on Google Maps as a destination. The map listing has 4.8 stars.
Multiple videos on TikTok and X now show people making the “pilgrimage” to what one local news outlet called Dublin’s “hottest” attraction.
