Whether it’s about his name getting snubbed in the Heisman race or him not being on the top of the power QB rankings, Shedeur Sanders has seen everything. However, not this time. Now the college football world is finally acknowledging his presence after looking at CBS Sports’ latest rankings.
After an impressive week nine performance, the Colorado Buffs’ comeback victory, securing a 34-23 win over Cincinnati, has drawn widespread praise. Now, CBS Sports has released its latest QB power rankings, and guess who’s claimed the top spot?
Yeah! it is Shedeur Sanders, everyone! The CBS rankings end a long cold war against Deion Sanders and his son. CBS Sports recently shared an Instagram post a few hours ago, writing a caption as “QB power rankings after week 9,” while adding a graphic of the QB list.

According to the rankings, Shedeur Sanders holds the No. 1 spot, followed by Cam Ward in 2nd place and Dillon Gabriel in 3rd. Jaxton Dart is ranked 4th, Will Howard 5th, Taylen Green 6th, Max Brosmer 7th, Riley Leonard 8th, Marcel Reed 9th, and Avery Johnson rounds out the top 10.
Shedeur Sanders is the current sensation in college football, thanks to the Buffs’ recent game against Cincinnati. Deion Sanders’ squad, including standout players Travis Hunter and Shedeur, connected for multiple touchdowns, securing the win. Shedeur recorded three carries, completed 18 of 21 passes for 219 yards, and added a rushing touchdown. After such a performance, even CBS acknowledged Deion Sanders’ impact by ranking his son at the top.

So basically, what was that prolonged fight between Coach Prime and CBS? We all remember how, a month ago, Deion Sanders created some bad blood between himself and the CBS spokesperson when he was asked a question by a CBS reporter. He jumped to the next reporter and refused to allow the first one to speak.
“CBS, I am not doing anything with CBS. Next question. it has nothing to do with you. It’s above that. I feel affection for you. I admire you. I respect you. They know what they did.” Deion Sanders’s words created a buzz in college football, bursting out with curiosity to know what was cooking between CBS and him.

Well, if we look into the theories, there are plenty! Some say Sanders started having issues with them when he worked as a pundit from 2002 to 2004. Others suggest it was a racial issue, citing the time when Deion refused to entertain CBS’s decision to take a story from a Black journalist and give it to a white writer. According to Coach Prime’s longtime friend, CBS had a collaboration with him, but it failed for some reason.
Basically, the initial reason might be anything, but the hate between the two parties increased with time. However, there is a ray of hope for things to get settled between them after CBS ranked Shedeur Sanders, their top-ranked QB. it’s time for Shedeur and his family to celebrate this milestone, which could be a stepping stone to his NFL career.
