“Calls Were Made” – Conor McGregor’s Talk Leaked as Logan Paul Drops Huge Hint on Next Fight

The world of combat sports thrives on spectacle and there’s no denying the spotlight commanded by Conor McGregor. While his recent legal troubles have cast a shadow over the Irishman’s public perception, a new twist in the story has arisen. What is it? ‘The Notorious’ recently revealed the plans for his long-awaited return to action but it’s not going to be inside the Octagon. Instead, McGregor might be facing off against Logan Paul. The internet sensation turned the WWE star inside the squared circle.
The buzz began with McGregor’s social media announcement teasing talks for a boxing exhibition in India, backed by the Ambani family, one of Asia’s wealthiest. For fans and skeptics alike, the move felt bold, even by McGregor’s standards. Now, the whispers surrounding the bout have gotten even louder with a surprising revelation from a veteran MMA journalist and Logan Paul’s cheeky hint at his recent WWE appearance!
Ariel Helwani drops a massive bombshell about negotiations between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul’s teams

In a clip from ‘The Ariel Helwani Show’ shared on X by Jed I. Goodman, Helwani stated, “Yesterday on the program we talked a little bit about the Conor McGregor-Logan Paul situation of it all. And the only thing that I can add to it is, again, maintain as I said yesterday, there’s validity to the fact that phone calls were made.”
Yet, he was quick to temper expectations. Why? The long-time combat sports reporter shared, “You know what Jake tweeted, based on my understanding, accurate. Saying phone calls were made but we’re not interested if the UFC is not involved. Phone calls made between one team and Logan Paul’s team, team McGregor team Logan Paul, feels like a long shot.”
Helwani further pondered whether this rumored fight could be linked to Dana White’s recent tease about a “crazy” upcoming announcement for 2025 that he made at the UFC Tampa post-fight press conference. But the issue pointed out by Helwani is, “I don’t think this was it. So let’s see, historically the UFC doesn’t love doing these things we connected the dots yesterday of WWE and UFC and TKO, could this delay that second fight, second to last fight on his contract from kicking in and all that stuff but I don’t know.”
If McGregor’s potential clash with Paul feels like a stretch, Logan Paul’s actions suggest otherwise. In a fiery WWE return, Paul borrowed McGregor’s iconic line from 2014 as he proclaimed, “I’m not here to take part. I’m here to take over. Your approval means nothing to me.”
Coincidence? Not a chance. The internet was quick to connect the dots, fueling chatter about a showdown that could blur the already smudged lines between sports and entertainment. Logan Paul, after all, is no stranger to the boxing ring. His exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2021 reportedly drew over a million pay-per-view buys—a testament to his draw, if not his skill.
More recently, his disqualification win over Dillon Danis in 2023, McGregor’s former teammate, adds another layer of drama to an already tangled narrative. But that’s not the entire picture as Jake Paul, Logan’s brother, and the man who recently took on Mike Tyson in another spectacle boxing match had an interesting take on the whole situation.

Jake Paul fires off on McGregor and reveals the Irishman’s management contacted his MVP team
In a post on X that sent waves in the combat sports world, Jake Paul finally broke his silence on the talks of Conor McGregor vs his brother Logan and stoked the flames of speculation even higher than they were. In typical Paul fashion, ‘The Problem Child’ held nothing back as he stated, “Now it all makes sense why Conor Mcgregor & his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us.”
But there was a catch as he further wrote, “As we told them them privately & I’m now saying it publicly…the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing / mma fight is if Dana White / UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions.”

McGregor’s contract with the UFC ties him tightly to Dana White’s control. Without the UFC’s blessing, even a glittering exhibition bout with Logan would face insurmountable hurdles. This dynamic isn’t uncharted. Back in 2017, when McGregor faced Floyd Mayweather in a clash of titans, the UFC played a crucial role in making the fight happen. History suggests any repeat spectacle will demand similar involvement from White and his promotional juggernaut.
Still, one can’t help but wonder—are we witnessing the dawn of another colossal fight announcement, or is this merely the Paul brothers flexing their knack for stirring the pot? Could Conor McGregor really return to the boxing ring, this time against Logan Paul? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
