(Reuters) -California suspended General Motors (NYSE: )’ Cruise autonomous vehicle deployment, effective immediately, the state’s department of motor vehicles said in a statement on Tuesday.
“When there is an unreasonable risk to public safety, the DMV can immediately suspend or revoke permits,” the regulator said.
It added, “This decision does not impact the company’s permit for testing with a safety driver.”
