CLEVELAND (WJW) — Whether they’re letting loose in the Muni Lot ahead of a home game or watching from their local Browns Backers bar, Cleveland Browns fans know how to have a good time, well, anywhere. So why not take the party to the high seas?
Fans have a unique opportunity again this year to cruise around the Caribbean with former Browns players and other devoted members of the Dawg Pound as part of the second annual Browns Fan Cruise.
The Browns and Seaside Events Inc. are teaming up for the one-of-a-kind experience featuring Q&A panels, hosted dinners and exclusive photo opportunities with their favorite Browns legends aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas cruise ship.
“The Browns Fan Cruise is the ultimate way to bring our incredible fanbase together,” said Brent Rossi, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Media. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with Seaside Events Inc. to create an amazing environment where fans can celebrate their passion for the team alongside some of the most iconic players in Brown’s history.”
This year’s lineup of Browns legends include:
Josh Cribbs Josh Cribbs appeared in 136 career NFL games, including 124 with the Browns from 2005-2012. Cribbs established himself as one of the special teams players in NFL history as both a returner and in coverage. He finished his 10-year career as the NFL’s all-time leader in kickoff return touchdowns with eight, tied for third in NFL history with 13,488 career return yards, third in kickoff return yards, and fifth in career return touchdowns.
Hanford Dixon Hanford Dixon appeared in 131 games with the Browns from 1981-89. He helped the team capture four AFC Central Division titles and appear in three AFC Championship games. Along with Frank Minnifield, he was credited with naming the Browns “Dawg Pound” inspired by Dixon’s barking to teammates.
John Greco John Greco played in 132 career games with 77 starts. He appeared in 85 games with the Browns from 2011-16. John grew up a Browns fan in Youngstown, Ohio. He had the unique experience of playing next to Pro Football Hall of Famer Orlando Pace in St. Louis and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas in Cleveland.
Eric Metcalf Eric Metcalf spent six years with the Cleveland Browns (1989-94) and rushed for 2,229 yards with 11 touchdowns, but he was also a threat in the air, catching 297 passes for 2,732 yards over the same timeframe. He shined in the return game and retired as the NFL’s all-time leader in punt return touchdowns.
Kevin Mack Kevin Mack spent all nine (1985-93) NFL seasons with the Browns. He compiled 5,123 rushing yards on 1,291 carries with 46 rushing touchdowns while adding eight receiving touchdowns. His 5,123 rushing yards rank sixth in club history and 46 rushing scores are fifth-most by a Brown.
Reggie Langhorne Reggie Langhorne played in 134 career games with 109 starts. He tallied 411 receptions for 5,446 yards with 19 touchdowns. Reggie appeared in 102 games with the Browns from 1985-91. He helped the Browns appear in three AFC Championship games. He recorded a career-high seven receiving touchdowns in 1988.
Phil Taylor Phil Taylor Sr. played in 44 career games with 42 starts, all with Cleveland (2011-14). Phil posted 109 career tackles, seven sacks, three passes batted down, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. During his rookie season in 2011, the Baylor product recorded career highs in both tackles (59) and sacks (four) en route to being named to the PFWA All-Rookie team.
Gary Barnidge Gary Barnidge appeared in 61 games with the Browns and recorded 160 receptions for 1,938 yards with 13 touchdowns. Gary Barnidge earned Pro Bowl selection following a breakout 2015 campaign as he tied Pro Football Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome (1979) for most touchdown receptions by a Browns TE with nine.
John Hughes John Hughes totaled 125 career tackles and 5.5 sacks in 66 games. Appeared in 53 games with the Browns from 2012-16. John played high school (Lincoln High School), college (Cincinnati) and professional (Browns) football in Ohio.
Webster Slaughter Webster Slaughter spent six seasons in Cleveland from 1986 to 1991. He caught 305 passes for 4,834 yards and 27 touchdowns. He finished his career with 563 catches for 8,111 yards and 44 touchdowns. His 305 catches rank seventh in team history, while his 4,834 receiving yards rank sixth and his 27 receiving scores rank ninth.
Christian Kirksey Christian Kirksey played six seasons (2014-19) with the Browns. During that time, he appeared in 73 games and registered 463 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two interceptions, 16 passes defended, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Christian signed a one-day contract to retire as a Cleveland Brown on April 16, 2024. He served as a captain in each of his final three seasons with the Browns.
Craig Robertson Craig Robertson appeared in 136 career games with 65 starts with the Browns (2011-15) and Saints (2016-20). He recorded 533 career tackles, 10 interceptions, nine sacks, 31 tackles-for-a-loss, nine fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. Craig appeared in 68 games with the Browns and recorded 308 tackles, six interceptions, four sacks, five fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Joe Schobert Joe Schobert appeared in 61 games with the Browns and recorded 394 tackles, 8.5 sacks, six interceptions, seven forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Tied for first in the NFL with 144 tackles in 2017. Recorded five seasons with at least 100 tackles. One of three NFL players to play every defensive snap for his team in 2017.
Seth Devalve Seth DeValve appeared in 57 career games with the Browns (2016-18), Jaguars (2019) and Cardinals (2020). Recorded 60 career receptions for 736 yards and four touchdowns. He appeared in 41 games with the Browns and recorded 48 receptions for 596 yards and four touchdowns.
Bob Golic Bob Golic, a Cleveland native, played for the Browns for seven seasons, including five playoff appearances. He was a two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection. Golic was a natural at the defensive line for 14 seasons, seven of which were spent with the Browns and included five trips to the playoffs.
William Green William Green was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft (16th overall). During Green’s rookie season, he rushed for 887 yards on 243 carries with six touchdowns, earning him runner-up honors for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and being named the Browns Player of the Year.
The Browns Fan Cruise will also feature Browns-themed parties, live entertainment, and interactive activities for fans to enjoy. The cruise ship itself has restaurants, pools, bars and lounges, pickleball, arcades and many other attractions.
The cruise is scheduled to set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in March with stops in Nassau and Cococay, Bahamas from March 3-7, 2024.
