COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina’s bowl destination has been confirmed.
The No. 15 Gamecocks will take on No. 20 Illinois at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The game will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The Gamecocks are in the bowl mix for the third time in Shane Beamer’s four years at the program’s helm.
South Carolina (9-3) won its final six games to land in the top 25 of all three national polls. In the latest Associated Press Top 25, Carolina slipped one spot to 14th.
