Both teams enter this game below .500 on the season, the Patriots at 3-9 and the Colts at 5-7. But the Colts still have hope as far as making the playoffs go, as the team is just two games back of the Houston Texans for first place in the AFC South.
Indianapolis is coming off a tough 24-6 loss against the 11-1 Detroit Lions. Quarterback Anthony Richardson struggled in the outing, connecting on just 11 of 28 passes for 172 yards and no touchdowns. The young signal-caller did rush 10 times for 61 yards, looking like the dual-threat quarterback he was drafted so highly to be.

On the season, Richardson has a mediocre 47.1 percent completion percentage with five touchdowns and seven interceptions. The former Florida standout has thrown for 1,402 yards on the campaign and boasts a 65.4 quarterback rating. All in all, Richardson’s second season in the NFL has not been great, but he needs all the reps he can get considering how little experience he had as a starting quarterback before getting to Indianapolis.
The Patriots, meanwhile, have the young quarterback they are trying to develop to be their franchise guy in former Carolina Tar Heel Drake Maye. Maye has shown flashes this season but like Richardson, doesn’t have elite numbers, boasting a 65.5 percent competition percentage, 10 touchdowns to seven interceptions and an 85.4 quarterback rating.
Which promising young quarterback will get the win in their first face-off on Sunday: Richardson or Maye? Find out on CBS at 1:00 p.m. ET.
