Tom Cruise takes center stage in new behind-the-scenes looks at Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning that tease his underwater stunts. After first playing superspy Ethan Hunt in the original Mission: Impossible in 1996, Cruise returned as the character last year for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, which saw him facing off against an AI threat known as The Entity. The Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning trailer has now been released, teasing Cruise’s potential final outing as Hunt and an abundance of stunts, including an underwater sequence.
The official Mission: Impossible account on X, formerly Twitter, now shares a new tease for the underwater sequence in The Final Reckoning. The video features Cruise wearing a scuba suit and clearly concentrating very hard as his face mask is fastened on. After fist-bumping members of the crew and giving everyone a thumbs-up, Cruise enters the water, with the video highlighting the danger of whatever stunt he’s about to do. Check it out below:
Cruise has also shared his own look at an underwater stunt from The Final Reckoning in the form of a behind-the-scenes image. Cruise’s post, also on X, features the actor taking a breath from a safety diver’s oxygen tank while underwater, with a large light shining in the background. Check out the new image below:
