The holiday season, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas, can include some of the busiest travel days of the year. As travelers flood the airports to visit families and friends during breaks from school or work, airports can get overcrowded, and flights are typically filled to the brim. According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after Thanksgiving are typically three of the busiest travel days of the year. The Sunday after last Thanksgiving, Sunday, November 26, was one of the busiest travel days ever recorded, with over 2.9 million travelers passing through TSA checkpoints.

Additionally, inclement weather can sometimes affect airports across the US during the holiday season in November and December. This may cause additional delays, forcing travelers to wait for additional flights and further crowding airports. These are common hassles during the holiday season.
However, many charter companies believe that flying privately solves the majority of these issues. SkyShare, a fractional ownership and charter flight provider based in Ogden, Utah, believes that private air travel is the answer to flight delays and increasing costs when flying commercially.

Additionally, chartered private jets are typically smaller than commercial airliners, which allows them to take off and land on shorter runways. This allows private jet users to take off or land at a wider variety of airports, some of which have shorter runways that many large commercial airliners do not have the ability to land or take off on.
Travelers who fly privately also have the ability to take off when they please. SkyShare customers can adjust their flight plans on short notice, which can help avoid the frustrations that happen when a commercial flight gets delayed. Typically, SkyShare sees a large uptick in flights during November and December as private flyers look to charter flights for larger family trips.
