PONTIAC, Ill. From preparing for the unexpected to surrendering to spontaneity, her advice will help travelers create a seamless experience.
Samantha joins ciLiving today to share the details about her trip down the Illinois portion of Route 66 (who she met and where she visited along the way). She shares the stories of the impact the highway has on our culture and history, and why it makes for a great road trip for families today.
A few stops Samantha and her friend Christina made include Pontiac Oakland Auto Museum, Funks Grove Maple Sirup, and America’s Playable Arcade Museum. In Springfield, Samantha and Christina explore the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Route History Museum, and Cozy Dog Diner. The journey continues to the Cahokia Mounds, a UNESCO site, and ends at Chain of Rocks Bridge with the mighty Mississippi River.
