First trailer for Tom Cruise’s new movie ‘Digger’ sets October 2026 release

Tom Cruise and Alejandro González Iñárritu are teaming up for their new film, “Digger.”
The first teaser for the Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment film was released today, with the tagline describing the flick as “a comedy of catastrophic proportions.”
Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, and while there the plot is still under wraps, Warner Bros. logline for Cruise’s character describes him as “the most powerful man in the world” who “embarks on a frantic mission to prove that he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.”
Shot in the U.K. for six months, this marks Iñárritu’s first English-language movie since “The Revenant” with Leonardo DiCaprio. “Digger” is being produced and directed by Iñárritu, with a script he co-wrote back in 2023 with “Birdman” co-writers Nicolas Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris, along with Sabina Berman.
Along with Cruise, the cast includes Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Emma D’Arcy.
This also marks Tom Cruise’s first comedy since 2010’s “Knight and Day.”
“Digger” will release on Oct. 2.
