The Erie Times-News, from now through early March, will compile lists of notable performances by District 10 athletes throughout the PIAA’s 2025-26 winter sports season, plus northwestern Pennsylvania teams in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League.
This week’s top performers are:
Boys basketball
Wesley Vass-Gal, Wilmington: The Greyhounds, aided by his 22 points, beat the Jamestown (Pennsylvania) Muskies 60-36.
Jameson Wofford, Franklin: His game-high 23 points helped the Knights beat the Cochranton Cardinals 58-46.
Girls basketball
Reese Bruckner, Wilmington: Her team-high 16 points helped the Greyhounds beat Saegertown 67-42.
Samantha Dore, General McLane: The Lancers, helped by her 16 points, defeated Girard 53-48 for their first victory with Bella Burrelli as coach.
Haylee Farrell, Seneca: Her 14 points topped a balanced offense for the Bobcats, who beat the Titusville Rockets 62-38.
Arianna Denning, Harbor Creek: Her 24 points comprised a significant portion of the offense for the Huskies when they defeated the North East Grapepickers 62-42.
Zarria Cullins, Franklin: Her nine points were enough to top the scorers for the Knights when they defeated Cochranton 36-31.
Ivy Riley, Jamestown (Pennsylvania): Her team-high 17 points helped the Muskies defeat the Iroquois Braves 46-27.
Boys swimming/diving
Carter DeSimone, Union City: The senior began his final season with the Bears as a four-time victor during their dual win over Mercyhurst Prep.
Girls swimming/diving
Jocelyn Jordan, Mercyhurst Prep: The freshman was a four-time victor for the Lakers, who won their season opener via a 111-56 dual victory vs. Union City.
