Celebrity Cruises opened up a priority booking portal for refundable deposits for their first-ever river cruise ships on September 3, and saw unprecedented demand, with sailings selling out in under six minutes. Now, Celebrity fans will have one more chance to get on the sleek new river boats starting tomorrow, September 25.
“We are thrilled to open the remaining inventory on 2027 Celebrity River Cruises sailings, following Priority Booking Access selling out earlier this month in just six minutes,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.
“The response to the innovative design and unmatched experience Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker will deliver has been overwhelmingly positive. Guests are going to love sailing Europe’s Rhine and Danube rivers The Celebrity Way on our fleet of elevated, cutting-edge ships.”

Both ships will feature elements of the brand’s latest Edge Class design, including a version of its famous cantilevered platform, called The Magic Edge, as well as signature Celebrity favorite dining and bar offerings, including Martini Bar, Sunset Bar and Café Al Bacio.
“What’s interesting is Viking started from the river and went to the oceans,” said Stewart Chiron, better known as The Cruise Guy, when news of the boats selling out broke. “Celebrity is going from the oceans to the river, with a much larger passenger base.”
“Many ocean cruisers have expressed interest in Europe’s rivers, but want a much higher class of ships that Celebrity appears to have designed. So demand was extremely strong because it was Celebrity offering with riverboats designed from scratch.”
The two river ships will feature an innovative hull design, delivering a lighterweight performance for increased maneuvering ability along the rivers. First-in-class open decks will have the most outdoor space of any river ship and will offer shipgoers 360-degree views as they cruise along the Rhine and Danube rivers.
Five stateroom categories will be available, each one making the most of the natural light and surroundings. “Rooms are designed not just for staying but for living with residential interior design, king-sized beds and the most in-room amenities on the river,” Celebrity shared in a new release.
Celebrity will open up its remaining inventory on 33 premium seven-night sailings in 2027, featuring more port stops per day and possibilities for overnights, allowing for more immersive experiences in Europe’s most beautiful settings. The two ships will invite guests to taste regional wines, walk cobbled village streets and enjoy the new perspective each day offers, said Celebrity.
With fan fervor at an ultimate peak since the launch, there’s no telling how fast these itineraries will sell out, so you’ll want to book before the ship sails—literally.
